Holy Family School places great emphasis on utilizing technology to enhance the learning process. In classrooms from kindergarten through 8th grade, we strive to uphold a curriculum that correlates with the National Technology Standards for Students (NETS) while following an Acceptable Use Policy to promote safe and ethical use of all technologies.
Here at Holy Family we incorporate cutting-edge technology to enrich the ways in which our students learn. Our:
- Smart classrooms feature interactive whiteboards and projectors to make learning engaging and interactive.
- Use of personal technology includes: iPads that each 7th and 8th grade student uses at school and at home; netbooks that each 5th and 6th grade student uses throughout their daily classes; and a classroom set of iPads that rotate among all of our younger grade students on a regular basis.
- Graphing calculators are available to help our upper grade math students master algebraic equations and functions.
- Wireless campus allows our students to interact with one another simultaneously.
- Constantly expanding use of state-of-the art hardware and software, such as digital cameras, Edmodo (a learning platform where students can post and retrieve assignments from anywhere), Audacity (audio recording), Animoto (digital storytelling and music videos), Google Docs (web-based documents), and Google Earth (geography), challenges our students to adapt to new technologies.
