At Holy Family School, our Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics curriculum focuses on the importance of hands-on learning and inquiry. By exposing students to these important areas, they gain a better understanding of the world around them, and help develop important critical thinking skills. With students being involved in this program starting in Kindergarten and continuing through 8th grade, the students develop their creativity and innovation – both being critical skills in their future. Whether students are interested in the Sciences, or not, the STEAM program helps enrich their learning, broaden their exposure to new technologies, and blend the arts and sciences together in creative ways.
Projects within the STEAM classroom cover a wide range of areas.
Sometimes students get to examine microscopic plants and animals,
while learning about important characteristics of each.
Other times, students explore chromatography while studying the process of separating pigments out of markers therefore creating beautiful works of art!
No matter what the activity put before them, students are having an eye-opening and memorable learning experience.
