My name is Nick Ireland and I teach sixth through eighth grade social studies and seventh and eighth grade religion at Holy Family. I am a product of Catholic education and a graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be of service and contribute to Catholic education. I particularly enjoy teaching both social studies and religion. They are in many ways complimentary subjects and there is a lot of opportunity for cross curricular instruction.
I reside in Exton with my wife and three young children. Two of our children attend our local Catholic school and one is currently attending preschool here at Holy Family. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and coaching rugby at Shanahan.

Educational Philosophy:
Middle school is a time of transition. With newfound freedom comes the need for responsibility. Outside of content, teachers should be helping students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. It is crucial that teachers provide structure, develop organizational techniques, and cultivate academic skills for students during the middle school years. Students need to be prepared for the rigors of high school and higher education. It takes a coordinated effort between parents, students, and teachers for a student to thrive. Catholic education should provide an environment in which students can grow closer to God and become better individuals who look to serve others.
