February was a busy month for the Open Arms Service Club. The Club rallied the student body and collected money throughout the month for St. Mary's Shelter. Our generous children donated several hundred dollars, and Sister Christine writes that the donation went a long way in off-setting the cost of heating the shelter during this very cold winter!
Students also participated in a food drive drive during February. Tied to Valentine's Day and the theme Healthy Hearts and Love for Others, they contributed foods red in color or packaging! Our Fifth Grade bagged the groceries, and the Seventh and Eighth Grades delivered an abundance of healthy foods to PACS!
We are so very proud of our children and grateful for the support of our generous parents! At HFS we live the call of Jesus to care for the poor!
