Dear HFS Families,
I can’t believe that it is the Friday of Labor Day weekend. In a few short days, I will finally get to see your children’s smiling faces as they come back to school for the first time in 6 months, or for the first time ever! While we are still dealing with the global pandemic, I feel such a strong sense of joy in that we are doing something “normal.” While it’s going to be quite different, I think this is going to be a great year!
The HFS faculty and staff have been hard at work over the last several weeks, and especially this past week. Classrooms are ready. Teachers have participated in professional development, and they have spent time collaborating with one another and showing our new staff members the ropes.
I would like to say thank you to all of our HFS families for all of the donations that have come in over the past couple of weeks. Since I arrived at HFS back in 2018, I have been amazed at how close this community is. As each year passes, you all continue to amaze me with your love, support, and passion for Holy Family School. Thank you for everything that you do for us. You are appreciated more than you know.
Covid Waivers
This is a final reminder for anyone who has not turned in their completed waivers. If we do not have a signed waiver on file for your child(ren), we cannot allow them into the building. This must be in our hands PRIOR to the first day of school. This is an Archdiocesan mandate. You may send it via email to office@myholyfamilyschool.org.
Office Hours
Beginning Tuesday, September 8, our office hours will be Monday through Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM. Please remember to follow all Covid procedures when entering into the building. Masks and social distancing are required.
Staffing Update
I am sorry to say that we are still searching for a qualified candidate for the 7th/8th grade ELA position. While that search is in progress, Mrs. Martino and I will handle the ELA curriculum as well as the 7th grade homeroom responsibilities.
Because of the pandemic, there has been a teacher shortage across the board for all schools. We have decided to keep to one 7th grade class. In order to adhere to the CDC guidelines, we have created an alternate classroom in the cafeteria, complete with a Smartboard, projector, desks, and chairs. Mr. Tom, Ms. Schreiner, Mrs. Bahr, and Christopher Bahr worked feverishly to create a welcoming classroom environment, and I think the students will be thrilled that they can be together, socially distanced of course.
Virtual Students
Families may pick up their student’s devices and school supplies on Tuesday, 9/8 between 9:00-11:00AM or 1:30-2:15PM. Schedules are still being worked on. Once teachers receive them, they will send them out to their students so they can sign on for classes.

We all have been under such strain since the onset of the pandemic. It fills my heart with joy to be on the cusp of going back to school. All of those things that we have taken for granted are bringing such light back into our lives, and for that we should be grateful. “May the God of hope fill you all with joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
Peace and Joy,
Mrs. Jennifer D’Amelio
