Dear HFS Families,
What a beautiful Friday it is today as we wrap up another week! I love that the weather has cooled as Autumn arrived, and I’m sure that the students and teachers are enjoying that it’s cooler in the building as well.
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine a light on the HFS faculty and staff. We have had some absences amongst our teachers and aides due to Covid, and every single person in this building has come together to help in any way they can. It makes me proud to know that the men and women in this building not only support your children, but one another as well. “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Conferences
This year, we will be offering Monday, November 7th as a conference day. Teachers in Kindergarten through 8th Grade will reach out to offer parent conferences, on or before this date, to discuss your child(ren)’s progress at the midpoint of the 1st trimester.
This is a change to our calendar. Because we will be offering conferences on this date, there will be no school for students.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouting is returning to Holy Family School! Cub Scouts is a program for boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th Grade. The program is set up by grade, so children can start in Cub Scouts at any time. Cubs Scouts is about adventures: adventures to learn about the outdoors and nature; about the community around us and citizenship; and about duty to God. We will be holding an ice cream social in the HFS cafeteria on Monday, October 3rd at 7PM. Please join us to find out more about Cub Scouts. We will be there to answer questions, and there will be fun activities. Mr. Steve Gorman (Mrs. Gorman’s husband) will be the pack's Cubmaster. If you cannot attend, please feel free to reach out to me 224gorman@gmail.com.
CARES Policy Update
As mentioned in a previous post, CARES pick up is 6:00PM. If you are going to be late, please call Mrs. Nemceff to let her know.
Effective Monday, 9/26, there will be a fee charged for any late pick ups. There will be an initial warning of the fee, and then any late pick ups after that will be $1.00 per child, per minute late.
Lunch Volunteers
I would like to address my email earlier this week regarding my request for help at lunch. I apologize if my tone appeared to be negative in any way; that was not my intention. My email was meant only to be a plea for help so that our students and teachers get what they need.
With that being said, we still have some spots open for the last week of September. If you are willing and able, we would be grateful for your help. Click here to sign up. Remember, in order to volunteer in any capacity, you must have your clearances. Click here for more information.
Home and School Events
Home and School has some fun events coming up in the next few weeks!
