Dear HFS Families,

I hope you are all enjoying these lovely (and HOT) summer days, whether you’re at camp, work, or on vacation. I trust that our students are finding time to work on their summer reading assignments in addition to enjoying all of the fun parts of the summer. Click here for our Summer Enrichment page.

Community News

Last week, I was informed that Mrs. Theresa Cooney had passed away. I first met Theresa when I taught her son Matthew when he was in the 7th Grade. She always had a smile on her face and kind words to say, and  she went out of her way to help or do things for the school.

Theresa was not only a parent here at HFS, she was also a PreK aide. While I didn’t know her during that time, I have heard so many lovely things about her, first and foremost that she loved her students as if they were her own. To have had someone like that working in our midst, sharing her gifts with those around her, was a blessing.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Please keep the Cooney family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Staffing Update

As you all know, Ms. Foltz has accepted a new opportunity elsewhere. Taking her place will be Ms. Alexandra Milacki. Ms. Milacki recently graduated from West Chester University with her BA in Early Grades Preparation with a minor in Special Education. She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Administration.

In addition to Ms. Milacki, I have hired Ms. Daniella Bondi-Adams as the other 2nd grade teacher. Ms. Bondi-Adams earned her BA in Elementary Education from Cabrini University.

I am currently looking for candidates for the Technology and Honors Math position. If you know of anyone who would be interested, please send them our way.

School Calendar

Our school calendar has been updated for the 2022-2023 school year. We have listed all holidays and in-service days. As we solidify dates for Masses, Prayer Services, and other events, we will add them to the calendar.

Uniform Reminders

Make sure you order your child(ren)’s school uniforms in a timely manner. I have heard through the grapevine that the gym uniforms are already on backorder. With that in mind, if your child’s uniform from SquadLocker is still usable,he/she may wear that for this year. Beginning in 2023-2024, the gym uniform from Flynn O’Hara will be the only accepted uniform.

Please visit the Flynn O’Hara store/website to purchase your uniforms for students in K-8. Shoes can be purchased at Flynn O'Hara or Flocco's.

Office Hours

This is a friendly reminder that our office hours for the month of July are Tuesday through Thursday 9AM-2PM. Beginning Monday, August 1st, we will move to Monday through Friday, 9AM-3PM.
