Dear HFS Families,
Happy Friday on this gorgeous afternoon! Despite what Punxsutawney Phil might have “predicted” last week, Spring is certainly in the air! Today was a fun day to be on recess duty with the Kindergarten and First Grade. Jackets were completely abandoned, and everyone seemed to have a case of spring fever, including me!
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine a light on two students. First, we have Kaitlyn B. in 4th Grade. According to Ms. D. “Kaitlyn works hard in everything she does, whether it be lending me a hand in the classroom or on her academics. Kaitlyn is very respectful during class time, making sure to give me eye contact, as well as showing consistency in her participation. Kaitlyn never misses a beat with her classroom job and does what is expected of her each and every day, without being told or doing it 'just for the dojo points'. I admire her work ethic. Not only is she an amazing student, but she is also a great friend and sister. She keeps those around her laughing, and she is quite an active student in the classroom. I am so grateful to have her this year. I am proud of her accomplishments and can't wait to see her continue to blossom.”
Another student on whom I’d like to shine a light is Corey R. in the 8th Grade. Mrs. Miscioscia witnessed Corey helping a younger Student Council member during a meeting where they were blowing up balloons. This student seemed unsure of himself and didn’t know what to do, but Corey took the time to check on him and make him feel more comfortable. He even let this student take on his job of hanging balloons around the school, which really made this student feel special. “Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity , let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of faith” (Galatians 6:9-10).
Way to go, Kaitlyn and Corey!

Help Feed the Hungry
Help fill our pantry shelves. With deep gratitude to our parishioners for helping the hungry through Our Lady of Mercy Food Pantry at St Ann Parish, we ask for more help and donations as the number of families coming to the pantry continues to trend upward. In January, we served nearly 100 families. Can you help restock the pantry?
The following is needed to fulfill standard items for bags for the next pantry on Saturday, February 18. We are especially in need of diapers and laundry detergent, and please, only sizes that can be used by individual families rather than restaurant-sized or large club items.
Donations can be left on the parish office porch at 502 S. Main Street. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
