Dear HFS Families,
I hope you are all enjoying the last few beautiful days that we’ve had. The students have certainly been enjoying the warmer weather, and I think a few classes might have visited Reeves Park this week for some outdoor class time or extra play time. Whatever the case may be, we are certainly enjoying the spring thus far. “By the Lord has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes” (Psalms 118:23).
Crisis Management Plan
In the past couple of weeks, I have had some parents reaching out to me regarding our crisis management plan. Please know that the safety and well being of your children are front and center at all times for me and the staff of Holy Family School. We are working with a consulting firm to evaluate our current crisis management plan as well as our school. This process will allow us to update areas in need as well as strengthen others. We will also be participating in an active shooter training later on this month with this same consulting firm.
We have seen an increase in the Phoenixville Police Department patrols past the school during the day, and they regularly stop in the building to do walk-throughs and interact with the students.
Drills with the students and staff will be increased so that everyone is aware of the various procedures for fire drills, lockdowns, etc., and we will alert you to any changes that develop in our crisis management plan once it has been evaluated and updated.
Lunch Menus
Lunch menus for May have been posted to our website. Please make sure you complete the menu for your child(ren) and return it to school on Monday, 4/17. Late menus will not be accepted. Click here for a copy of the menu, and the link for payment is here.
Shadow Day
We are holding a shadow day on Tuesday, May 16th for students who are currently in 4th through 7th Grades. If you know of anyone who is interested, please have them contact Mrs. Mona Sabatino at advancement@
Lunch Volunteers
The sun is shining and it feels so nice to be outside. Come join us and spend a little extra time with your child(ren) during lunch recess. Click here to sign up, and just as a reminder, you do need to have all clearances completed.
Boosterthon
Our annual Boosterthon Fun Run is coming up in May, and we are beginning to get in gear for it. You all should have received an email of two from our Advancement Director Mrs. Sabatino regarding getting your child(ren) registered. Click here to visit MyBooster.com and get started. Registering is free, easy, and helps our school community. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for operating expenses, books, field trips, and more.
During the Holy Family School Fun Run, students will participate in multiple laps of themed running, walking, and dancing! This will end up being 35 minutes of physical activity. Here is a sneak peek of the event: CLICK HERE. Students can SHARE their donation page to get donations from friends & family for every one of those minutes ($1 per minute = $35 to help our school!). Fun Fact: Once a donation is made, sponsors can see if their corporation has a donation matching program to maximize your generosity to our school.
