Dear HFS Families,
I apologize that I missed sending out my posting last week! I was actually enjoying the day off after our faculty meeting, and it completely slipped my mind. Oops! I hope that you were able to enjoy the long weekend with one another!
We have entered into the season of Lent, a time of preparation to celebrate Jesus' Resurrection. It is a time of sacrifice, abstinence, and alms giving. As a child, I always “gave up” something for Lent, as I’m sure many of you did as well. I have found that while this is a wonderful thing to do, I also like to try to do something to strengthen my relationship with God and others. This year, I have decided to give up complaining and instead, to try and turn those negative thoughts toward gratitude. I am blessed to have the family and friends that I do, a career that I love, and the ability to live my life the way that I do. What will YOU do this Lenten season? “Make known to me Your ways, Lord; teach me your paths. Guide me by Your fidelity and teach me, for You are God my Savior, for You I wait all the day long” (Psalms 25:4-5).
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine the light on Mrs. Jamie McNerney. Since joining our ranks in December, Mrs. McNerney has been a busy bee fielding phone calls, inquiries, and providing tours of our beloved school. In addition to this, Mrs. McNerney provides potential new families with her perspective as one of our parents. We are blessed to have her working alongside us to support the continued growth of HFS.
Live Virtual Instruction
While I have yet to hear from Phoenixville School District regarding the upcoming storm, I would like to remind you that any remaining school closings due to snow will be live virtual instruction days. This ensures we meet our required 180 instructional days and minimizes interruptions to active learning. Live instruction will occur from 9AM-12PM for students in grades K-8. We will do our best to send the students home with their devices and the necessary books/materials so that they are prepared. Teachers will provide parents/students with log on information. If you have any questions, please reach out to the teachers directly.
Tuition Update
On Tuesday, 2/16, you should have received an Option C email with an attachment from the Board of Limited Jurisdiction. This letter addressed the tuition increase that will be implemented for the 2021-2022 school year. With that in mind, Mrs. Stephanie Bahr will soon be updating Smart Tuition accounts for the coming school year.
Title I Surveys
Title I Surveys were sent home last week with our youngest and only students. Please be sure to complete those forms as they are critical in helping our respective school districts determine how much assistance our students receive. Your responses, as always, are anonymous and will be beneficial to our school. They are due on March 1st.
