Rosetta Stone requirements for Trimester 2:
This trimester students are to complete 6 hours of Rosetta Stone. They are noting their progress in their homework books. Failure to complete the hours wil result in a 2 for a grade. Students should be completing about 30 minutes per week to make it more manageable.
Here is a brief summary of some of the things we will be covering this year in the various grades:
K and 1: Spanish songs, seasonal words (apples, pumpkins,Fall words, Christmas words, Winter words, colors, numbers, parts of the body, short stories, circle games, and more.
2nd: the house, colors, parts of the body, animals,food words , short skits, our classroom, family, numbers, holidays, short stories, etc.
3rd: the house, colors, polite Spanish phrases, animals, numbers, action words, adjectives, food, parts of the body, places in our town, etc.
4th and 5th gr:
useful Spanish phrases, describing our families, classroom objects, action words, Day of the dead unit, veb endings, putting together simple Spanish sentences, telling time, Spanish feast days, Spanish Christmas traditions, colors, adjectives, Spanish self portraits, Spanish valentines, occupations, weathers, seasons, parts of the body, Cinco de Mayo unit, and much more!
6th and 7th: How to greet people appropriately, things in our classroom, family, our homes, introduction to Spanish verbs and how to change their endings, Day of the Dead, adjectives, clothing, short stories, skits, and more!
useful classroom phrases, Spanish "selfies" , Hispanic Heritage month projects, greeting people appropriately, numbers, telling time, weather, days of the week, adjectives and describing one another in Spanish, Day of the dead, family members, Spanish feast days and Holidays, our homes and a "realtor" activity, possessive pronouns, things we do in our home, putting sentences together, Spanish valentines, verbs and appropriate endings, forms of transportation, Cinco de Mayo and so much more!
Students in grades 4-8 are expected to have a notebook for notetaking and folder for handouts!
