Dear HFS Families,
It is difficult to believe that it is November already. This year, in particular, has been so much more critical than many others we’ve experienced in our lives. Through the vigilance of our faculty, staff, students, and families, we were able to reopen safely. I am so pleased that we have been able to remain open with no incidents to this point. Even though we are doing well, I certainly want to remain vigilant. I am sure that you feel the same way. Thank you for all that you have done to support our efforts. We could not do it without you.
Despite being well into the school year, we continue to receive phone calls about potential new students. In speaking with the Office of Catholic Education, our Board of Limited Jurisdiction, Father Newns, and our faculty and staff, we have decided that it would serve Holy Family School well to open our doors to some of these new families.
In discussions with OCE, it has been determined that we can safely accept new students and still maintain our safety guidelines. If we are able to maintain a side to side distance of six feet, while incorporating sneeze guards, we could welcome a few new students in some of our classrooms. Because the safety of our staff, students, and families is of the utmost importance to us, any new students will be asked to attend school virtually for 2 weeks in order to keep the integrity of our cohorts intact.
As has always been my practice, it is important to me to continue to be as transparent as possible with you as you have been with me. I do not make any of these decisions lightly or without a great deal of thought and conversation with others.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Mrs. Jennifer D’Amelio
