Dear HFS Families,
Here we are at the end of our first full week of school, and it has certainly been a busy one. Our students are getting adjusted to new teachers and new routines, and our teachers are preparing interesting and engaging lessons for your child(ren). I have gotten to meet many of our new students as I make visits throughout the building, and I am enjoying establishing new relationships with the kids and the teachers. It also warms my heart to see the students and teachers reconnecting. Our relationships with one another are one of the things that I treasure the most about our HFS community. “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Staffing Update
Earlier today, I shared a communication with our PreSchool families regarding a change in staffing. Mrs. Beth Carboy has decided to take a step back from being a lead teacher, and she will continue with the class as a part-time aide. In her place, Mrs. Tricia Garcia will take over as lead teacher. Mrs. Garcia has considerable experience in Catholic school. She has worked with students in PreK up through high school, and she has worked as a Director of Religious Education. Please join me in welcoming her to our family.
PreSchool/PreK Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your continued patience as we worked out the kinks in our transition to the main school building. It is greatly appreciated.
On Monday, 9/20, BOTH drop-off and pick-up will take place at the doors of the breezeway located between the old and the main building. There is a pathway leading up to the steps and a grassy area where parents might feel more comfortable waiting until 8:00 when drop off begins. An aide will be waiting at that door, along with 2 Sixth Grade Safeties. Our Safeties will escort the children upstairs to their classrooms. Pick up will be in the same location at 11:15 and then again at 3:00.
If you have questions about this procedure, please let me know.
School Procedures
This is a friendly reminder that all students K-8th Grades should arrive at school between 7:45 and 8:10AM. If you are dropping your children off after 8:10, you MUST walk them into the building and sign them in.
If you are changing your child(ren)’s dismissal, please notify both your child(ren)’s teacher(s) and the office. Mrs. Martino and Mrs. Gallagher can be reached at office@myholyfamilyschool.org or 610-933-7562.
If you are entering the building at any time, you are required to wear a mask regardless of your vaccination status. This is for the safety and health of all of our students, faculty, staff, and families.
Extracurricular Activities
Math Counts will begin on Tuesday, 9/21 for our 7th and 8th Grade students. They will meet with Mrs. Louden during their lunch period.
8th Grade Visitation Day
Due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, the 8th Grade Visitation Day on October 14th has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
