Principal's Post September 3, 2021

Dear HFS Families,

This week was a busy week! Teachers were in the building on Tuesday for an in-service, and the day was very productive indeed. It was wonderful to be back together, and the classrooms look great! We had our annual Sneak Peek on Wednesday, and while the rain put a slight damper on things, it was still wonderful to see the kids and parents coming in to meet the teachers and check out the classrooms. 

Staffing Update

I am THRILLED to announce that we have hired a teacher for 2nd Grade! I’d like to extend a warm HFS welcome to Ms. Allison Foltz.

I have offered the 3rd Grade position to a candidate, and that person is in the process of giving notice to their current employer. In the meantime, Dr. Monica Watson will begin the school year with our 3rd Grade students. 

Uniforms

I have spoken with a number of you regarding delays on both the school uniform and the gym uniform. Please stop in and check the Uniform Exchange to see if there are any items to get you through until your pieces arrive. For the gym uniform, students may wear dark colored shorts and a plain t-shirt until the Squad Locker items come in.

Morning Drop Off/Afternoon Pick Up

Please see the attached schematic and procedure . This encompasses all students PreSchool through 8th Grade

Please see the attached document from the Office of Catholic Education regarding the Health and Safety Plan for the 2021-2022 school year, as well as an attachment from Archbishop Perez regarding the historic flooding this past week.

Lunch Monitors

We are in need of parents to give of their time during our lunch periods. We need coverage for both indoor and outdoor lunch duty. We ask that you commit to being with us from 11-1, if possible. Our goal is to have a steady and predictable group who can monitor the lunches. We would be happy to place you on our sub list, if you are unable to commit to specific days/times. Please remember that in order to volunteer you must be on our Approved Chaperone List. Thanks to those who have already contacted us!
