Dear HFS Families,
What a beautiful Friday to end our school week! It has been a relatively quiet week, but we did have the opportunity to celebrate Mass with Father O’Hara. I have really missed celebrating Mass as a school community, and I continue to enjoy being all together in the Chapel. To hear our kids singing and responding is such an incredible sound. It brings such joy to my soul. “Sing to God, praise His name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before Him whose name is the Lord” (Psalms 68:5).
Big News!
Yesterday, I received news from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that Holy Family School has been named a School of Distinct Instruction. In determining the candidates for this award, the Archdiocese studied two specific criteria:
• Growth—By comparing the Normal Curve Equivalent (NCE) score from this year’s testing to the NCE in the last test the students took, the students gave evidence of expected or greater than expected growth.
• Exceeding Potential—Analyzing the data from the ability testing (InView) and the achievement testing, these schools were found to have 90% of the classes meeting or exceeding their potential in all content areas at every level tested.
This all comes down to the support our parents provide to their children; the instruction and guidance of our teachers; and our students' hard work. I will be receiving an award on behalf of HFS next week at the Principals’ Conference in Cape May. Words cannot express how proud I am of our community!
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I am shining a light on our HFS community - families, students, and staff. Without your support, guidance, and dedication, we would not be the community we are today, and it shows in our recent School of Distinction award.

Lunch Menus
November lunch menus are due on Wednesday, 10/13. Please make sure you send them in on time, or you’ll end up on Mrs. Martino’s naughty list!
A menu should be sent in for each child receiving lunch, and extra slices of pizza do require payment. They are not free.
Lunch Volunteers
We continue to be in desperate need of lunch volunteers. We appreciate those of you who have provided much-needed coverage thus far, but we still have spots open. If you are able to give of your time, our teachers and students would be so appreciative. https://www.signupgenius.com/
