Dear HFS Families,
It’s been another busy week here at HFS, and we are all gearing up for Thanksgiving next week. I look forward to getting to spend some quality time with family and friends that I don’t get to see as often as I would like. It will be a nice change of pace to slow down, and I think we all can look forward to enjoying that. “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine a light on Mrs. Lynette Smith. Mrs. Smith is one of our PreK teachers, and it goes without saying that she is a rock star! She makes lessons fun and engaging for her students, and there’s a creativity to all that she does that really makes her shine. Her students are lucky to have her as their teacher.
I would also like to acknowledge Mrs. Smith for another reason. I neglected to include her on my list of teachers who helped make sure that the Haunted House went off without a hitch. Mrs. Smith doesn’t go out of her way to make sure that she is noticed, but she certainly does go out of her way for her students and those with whom she works. Thank you, Mrs. Smith, for all that you do!
Additionally, I would like to shine a light on our 6th Grade safeties. We started the safeties program last year to help make sure our PreSchool/PreK students get to their classrooms, and once again, these boys and girls just amaze me. They take their job very seriously, but they also take the time to get to know our youngest students in a way that is simply heartwarming. It gives me such joy to see the bond that they are forming with the PreSchool and PreK students.
Winter Uniforms
This is a friendly reminder that we are now in winter uniforms. We are seeing a number of students out of uniform. Please consult the Parent-Student Handbook on our website.
Tinseltown
Our hard working Home and School Association was able to procure a group discount code for Tinseltown in Oaks this year. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
