REMINDER
Don’t forget that HFS will be closed on Monday, 11/7.
Dear HFS Families,
November has arrived, and it doesn’t quite feel like Fall just yet, but I don’t think any of us are complaining. We’ve been able to enjoy spending time outside during recess playing with our friends, walking around the neighborhood to see Halloween decorations, and some classes even earned extra time at Reeves Park. What a lovely way to spend our days!
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, there are a few people on whom I’d like to shine a light. Upon hearing about the cancellation of the Student Council’s Haunted House last Saturday, both Mr. Cahill and Ms. Vetter jumped in to make sure that the show would go on! Their only concern was providing a fun-filled evening for our students and parents, and they did not disappoint.
In addition to our teachers, there were a large number of parents who contributed greatly to the success of the evening. They spent their afternoon driving students to the school, bringing pizza, helping decorate, and cleaning up after the conclusion of the event.
I would also like to shine a light on the Student Council, and the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades. They made this year’s Haunted House everything it should be - fun, spooky, and a community event. Their hard work was obvious to all as they walked through the maze of rooms in the cafeteria, and it was a fun night for everyone who came out.
Finally, I would like to recognize Mrs. Laura Miscioscia. Our second annual Haunted House would not have been possible without her. Her leadership and dedication to the students and families of Holy Family is unwavering. We are so lucky to have her as a model for our students.
Home and School
Pies and Poinsettias order forms are due on Tuesday, 11/8 in the office. These would make wonderful hostess gifts or additions to your Thanksgiving dinners. The flyer is attached for your convenience. The HFS Home and School appreciates your support!
Uniforms
Winter uniforms will begin on Wednesday, 11/9.
December Lunch Menus
Lunch menus for December are due Monday, 11/14. Late menus will not be accepted. Please make note that 3rd and 4th Grade will be going on a field trip on Friday, 12/16. Please do not order lunch for your 3rd/4th Grade student that day. Click here for the payment link for the December menu. The lunch menu is attached.
HFS Dance
We will be hosting our first dance of the school year on Friday, 11/18. The dance will be for 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students, and it will be held in the cafeteria from 7:00-9:30PM. Students may bring ONE guest with them, and each guest MUST have a signed parent permission and contact form. Forms will be sent home at the end of next week.
Picture Day
Picture day is coming up on Thursday, 11/10. Students should be in their winter uniform for their pictures. Order forms were sent home this week, and the students should bring them in on Thursday, 11/10 or before. If anyone forgets the order form, pictures will still be taken, and parents will still be given the option of ordering photos.
