Dear HFS Families,
I hope you are all well and healthy on this dreary Friday. I have spent the entirety of this week in quarantine at home. Covid finally caught up with me (and a number of others throughout the school)! I am feeling fine, minus the cough and fatigue, and I look forward to getting back into the building as soon as I can.
With that being said, please know that we continue to follow the CDC’s guidance, despite our personal opinions. Like many of you, I don’t want to wear a mask, but as I am working under the direction of the Office of Catholic Education, I will continue to make decisions and do what is best for all of the community. Please hang in there as we only have a few weeks to go.
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine a light on our Advancement Director, Mrs. Jamie McNerney. Over the course of this past year, she has been a bright spot in all of our days with her sense of humor, infectious smile, and can-do attitude. On top of bringing in new families, she single-handedly organized and facilitated our inaugural Boosterthon Fun Run. She spent her time getting it set up with Boosterthon, sending out emails to teachers and parents to drum up excitement and pledges, delivering prizes to the students, etc. On the day of the Fun Run, Mrs. McNerney was out there running with the students in K-4 and tossing out colored powder for the 5-8 students during the Color Run.
Thank you for all that you do for the students, staff, and families of HFS, Mrs. McNerney! You’re one in a million!
Boosterthon Update
With the help of our students and families, the final total, as of today, is $13,133.67!! Considering that this was our first ever Fun Run, we are blown away! There are still some corporate pledges that will be coming in within the next couple of weeks, but WOW!
This will go a long way in contributing to our teachers’ classroom stipends, books, supplies, and other general operating expenses. I will also be directing a portion of the proceeds to the Student Council’s Courtyard Clean-Up project. Thank you again for all of your support, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
Centennial Kick-Off Mass
As you know, our Centennial year is coming up, and we will kick off a year-long celebration with a Mass on Thursday, 6/2. Archbishop Nelson Perez will lead us in our liturgical celebration. Please join us!
