Dear HFS Families,
Happy Friday! It’s hard to believe that this will be our last Friday of the school year, and what a busy Friday it has been! Our precious PreSchool and PreK students graduated today, and I had the pleasure of being at the ceremony. All year long, they have been such a joy to be around, and today was no different. I am amazed at the growth I’ve seen over the course of this year. I look forward to seeing many of them move over to Kindergarten in the “big school”. I have a feeling that I will be popping in to see them frequently! “Certainly sons [and daughters] are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward” (Psalms 127:3).
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine the light on Mr. Steve Pendleton. He has impressed us all from day one, and he continues to do so right up until the end of the year. Not only has he provided lots of fun in gym class, but he has also taught our students the value of good sportsmanship, healthy lifestyle choices, and what it is to be a good person. On top of that, Mr. Pendleton organized a wonderful Field Day today, and it was so great to see our students HAVING FUN! Mr. Pendleton’s light shines ever so brightly, and we are better for his having shared it with us.
Graduation Mass
Our 8th Grade is preparing to graduate on Wednesday, 6/16. We will be celebrating their accomplishments at Mass together, and there are no restrictions with regard to the number of family members in attendance.
While the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has lifted restrictions in church, the Office of Catholic Education’s policy for students and schools differs. Because this is a school-sanctioned event, we will be following the mitigation protocols that we’ve had in place all year.
Lunch Parent Volunteers
We have 3 lunch days left, and we are still in need of volunteers during our lunch recesses. If you have some time to spare, our teachers would be very grateful to have a few minutes to eat and recharge for the remainder of the day. Click here to sign up.
Last Week/Day of School
Next week, students may continue to wear their gym uniforms/Panther Pride t-shirts. They may do so Monday through Wednesday. All students should wear their regular school uniforms for our closing Mass.
Our last day of school will be Thursday, 6/17. We will celebrate the end of the year TOGETHER at a closing liturgy at 10:00AM. Please see the Graduation guidelines above regarding mask requirements.
Thank You!
I would like to give a big shout out to the parents who volunteered to help with Field Day today. We are forever grateful for your time and talents, and because of you and Mr. Pendleton, Field Day was a great success! Special thanks to Mrs. Mink for surprising the 8th Grade with pizza after the Field Day festivities!
Registration
Our enrollment for next year is very healthy; however, we do still have seats available in all grades. If someone you know is considering Catholic school, please refer them to us. Mrs. McNerney is available for questions and tours. She can be reached at advancement@myholyfamilyschool.org or 610-933-7562.
