Principal's Post August 26,2022

Dear HFS Families,

We are less than 2 weeks away from Back to School! Where has the summer gone? While I am always sad to see the summer go, I do look forward to the return of our students and teachers. Next week, the teachers will be getting together for their in services and to prepare as a team for the return of our students and families. We are all looking forward to seeing you and your children!

Staffing Update

I am happy to share with you that Ms. Brianna Miscioscia has accepted the Honors Math position for 5th through 8th Grades. Ms. Miscioscia recently graduated from Pennsylvania State University with her BS in Biomedical Engineering. She has accepted the position as a long term substitute, and we will continue our search for a qualified candidate.

September Lunch Volunteers

Afraid you might miss the kids once they’re back in school? Never fear, volunteer opportunities are here! If you’d like to volunteer your time and help monitor lunches and recesses, please sign up here! All volunteers must have their clearances. See the Volunteering section below for more information.

PreSchool/PreK

Because we have seen such an increase in enrollment in our PreSchool and PreK programs, we made the decision to have 2 classrooms for each group. This will allow our families the flexibility to add days to their child’s schedule, and we will still have some room to grow.

School Books Update

As some of you know, we are still waiting for our books to arrive through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. At this point, it is unlikely that we will have all of the necessary books to start off our school year. Please consider contacting your local Senator and/or Representative to help push PDE to approve our book orders. Click here to get started.

Sneak Peek

Our annual Sneak Peek is coming up on Wednesday, 8/31 at 2:00PM. Come on over to Holy Family so your child(ren) can meet their teachers and drop off supplies. Home and School will also be hosting Popsicles on the Playground during this time. It’s a great opportunity to meet new families and friends!

Health Forms

All new PreSchool and PreK students need to have their current immunizations on file in the Nurse’s Office. Click here for more information. Please obtain the most recent copy from your pediatrician, and send it to healthroom@myholyfamilyschool.org. 

Volunteering

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities at Holy Family School. We are always looking for lunch parents, recess monitors, homeroom parents, etc. In order to be even more involved in your child(ren)’s school, you will need to have your clearances completed and/or updated.
