Dear HFS Families,

Here we are finishing our 6th week back in session, and the teachers and students have really gotten into the groove. I was able to spend some extended time in some classrooms this week, and I even got to participate in a Nouns Review Escape Room! What a fun and innovative way to review for a test! 

Teacher Spotlight

This week, I would like to shine the spotlight on our Art Teacher Mrs. Amanda McCarthy. As our new Art Teacher this year, Mrs. McCarthy has had to be extra creative in her lessons, because she is moving from classroom to classroom. Despite that, she has provided opportunities for our students to get outside and sketch, and she has developed engaging and hands-on activities that her classes are enjoying each week. We are so grateful to have Mrs. McCarthy with us!

HFS Reopening Plan Update

As there have been some updates to the guidance issued from the Chester County Department of Health regarding Covid-19, we have made updates to our Reopening Plan to reflect that. Click here to review.. The areas that have been updated are highlighted in yellow for your convenience. We will update our website with the revised document as well.

Halloween

It has been a long-standing tradition here at Holy Family School that we have a Halloween Parade every year on or around Halloween. Because of Covid-19, we are unable to host this event in the customary way. However, we have come up with a modified version of this tradition that I think will make the students happy. While this is not ideal, we are adapting as best as we can in the current situation. 

On Friday, October 30th, the students have been given a time in which they may tour the school while wearing their costumes. This will allow the children to see all of the classes’ decorated doors, while showing off their costumes. All cohorts will remain in their classrooms, but they will be able to see the students as they pass by the doors.

Cohorts will be permitted to have their Halloween parties, and the teachers will send out information as we get closer to that date.

As always, I am beyond thankful for the support that you provide HFS every single day. Your children are a blessing to us, and they have brought such joy and life back into the building. “Whoever receives one such child such as this in My name, receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but the One who sent Me” (Mark 9:37).  I hope you have a relaxing weekend!
