Dear HFS Families,
Why is it that the short weeks always seem to be the busiest? We certainly have been busy this week as we prepared to honor Mary during our May Procession. It’s strange to think that we haven’t had a “normal” procession since May 2019, but we were blessed today in that we were able to gather together in a way that hasn’t happened in more than a year. We were also blessed in that we had a beautiful day to celebrate the Blessed Virgin. “What a joy to remember that she is our Mother!...” (Saint Therese of Lisieux).
Principal’s Spotlight
I would like to shine a light on a number of people this week. I would like to thank Mr. Nick Ireland, Ms. Gabrielle Vetter, and Mrs. Patty Guzman for working with their students to ensure that their students were well prepared to lead us in prayer at today’s service.
Ms. Schreiner and Ms. Jarvis were integral to our May Procession. Ms. Jarvis took care of the music and made sure it was audible to all. Ms. Schreiner set up the Zoom for our parents, and she filmed the service.
I would also like to thank Father Newns for leading our celebration of Mary, and I hope that we will be seeing a lot more of him in the 2021-2022 school year.
Finally, I would like to shine a light on our 2nd, 7th, and 8th Grade students. All eyes were on them throughout the celebration as they processed to St. Ann’s Chapel to pay homage to Mary, Our Mother. I am always proud of our students, but it’s on days like today that the innocence and beauty of our children really shine. They truly are a gift from God.
