Principal's Post May 28, 2021

Dear HFS Families,

Can you believe that it’s Memorial Day Weekend? It’s hard to believe that we have made it to this point. Back in September, we were worried about the state possibly shutting us down, or having an outbreak, but we made it! I am so proud of all that the staff, students, and our families have done to get us here. We are an amazing community!

Principal’s Spotlight

This week, I shine the light on our outgoing Student Council Executive Board. It has been such a pleasure working directly with them, and I have enjoyed seeing Patrick, Peter, Brendan and Abigail show themselves “as...model[s] of good deeds in every respect” (Titus 2:7). I have gotten to watch them grow and mature into well-spoken, polite, smart, and funny individuals. They are leaving behind big shoes to fill, and I know that our incoming Executive Board will have a great deal to live up to and to emulate. Congratulations, Patrick, Peter, Brendan, and Abigail. I will miss you and our working lunches!

Mitigation Efforts

I sent out a reminder last week regarding our continued Archdiocesan-mandated mitigation efforts, and I thank you for your support. Even though you might be vaccinated, not everyone in our building is. This includes most of our children. Because of this and the Office of Catholic Education mandates, we will continue our mask policy  while in the building, during drop off, and during pick up. Don’t make me come out there again! ;-)

HFS Yearbook

We are excited to announce that we are finishing up the Yearbook and it's looking great! The sale is open and just like last year, it will only be an online sale. You can purchase a yearbook for your child(ren) at the link below. The cost is $24. The last day to purchase yearbooks is Friday, May 28.

Lunch Parent Volunteers

We are nearing the end, and we are still in need of volunteers during our lunch recesses. If you have some time to spare, our teachers would be very grateful.  Click here to sign up.

As we go into Memorial Day Weekend, I ask that you pause for a moment and remember what this weekend is all about. Pray for the men and women who have given their lives to defend our country and for the men and women who continue to do so.
