School activities and events have been on the quiet side this week, as the Coronavirus is all anyone is talking about recently. I know that we are all concerned about its impact, and I want to reassure you that I am working closely with the Phoenixville School District, the Office of Catholic Education, and our Pastor Father Newns. We are processing all the information as it comes to us and making informed decisions for our school community. I am thankful for your patience and understanding as we deal with this unprecedented situation. Please know that the staff and I have our students and families’ best interests at heart. For more information about the virus, please visit the Chester County, Pennsylvania website, the Centers for Disease Control website, or the Pennsylvania Department of Health website.
Spotlight This week, I shine the spotlight on Mr. Nick Ireland. I have had the opportunity to sit in on a few of Mr. Ireland’s Social Studies lessons with the 7th grade. I so enjoy American History, and I find it interesting to sit in on Mr. Ireland’s class and listen from the students’ perspectives. I really enjoy the way Mr. Ireland conveys not only the facts to his students, but he also makes connections to current day. I even had a chance to show off a bit and answer a question that no one else knew. I wonder...do you know the answer? According to the Declaration of Independence, what are your three inalienable rights as a human being?
