Dear HFS Families,
Happy New Year! This is a time of year where we are all making our resolutions - trying to create better habits or improve upon things we see as weaknesses. “Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not, …” (Isaiah 43:18). Instead, focus on giving yourself the gift of time - time to pray, time to reflect, time with your family. Any one of those would be a wonderful start to the New Year.
Covid Cases
As some of you may already know, we have had a number of Covid cases this past week. As of last night, the total number of cases is 5. Close contacts have been contacted directly, and as per my communication yesterday, we reinstated masks while outside at recess for the remainder of the week, with the potential to do the same for next week. I ask you to continue monitoring your children for symptoms and notify me if you will be keeping your child(ren) home. Additionally, all requests to move to a virtual platform need to be approved by me, not the teachers.
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine the light on all of the staff. There have been a number of students who have had to move to a virtual platform this week. It’s never easy for the students or the teachers, but I would like to commend our teachers who have taken it in stride and done everything possible to make it a good experience for their kiddos.
And here we are today with a virtual day. I was able to pop into a few Zoom sessions with the students and teachers, and I was very impressed with what I saw. The students were engaged and participating in lessons, and everyone looked happy.
Continuous Enrollment
Last month, we launched our Continuous Enrollment system. We are asking that families complete the Continuous Enrollment form by Friday, 1/28/2022, at which point enrollment will open up to new families. This will guarantee your child(ren) a spot for the 2022-2023 school year, and it will allow us to begin planning for the year as well. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. McNerney (advancement@
Picture Make-Up Day
For students who missed Picture Day, there will be a make-up/re-take day on Monday, 1/10/2022.
Lunch Monitors
We are always in need of and grateful for our lunch monitors. January is upon us, and we once again ask your help in staffing lunches! If you have some time and are on the Approved Chaperone List, please consider signing up for a lunch or two! Many thanks to our “steady enders”! Click here to sign up!
