Dear HFS Families,
Happy Friday! We had lots of things going on this week at Holy Family, and I have to share with you how proud it makes me. We have been slowly, but surely, making our way through this pandemic year, and it has been difficult for sure. Despite this, our staff and students have been coming up with inventive ways to show both our strong sense of community and a commitment to our faith in the things that we do. “For we are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
On Tuesday, April 20th, Ms. Pizzico hosted another HFS Reads night. This round focused on fantasy stories, and it was another well-attended event. There is something so special about having a story read to us. It makes me want to snuggle down in a cozy blanket and just get lost in the story!
On Thursday, April 22nd, our Student Council hosted a Dollar Dress Down Day for #teamtrees in honor of Earth Day. This organization plants 1 tree for every dollar donated. Based on the number of students and teachers I saw dressed down, I’m going to estimate that approximately 200+ trees will be planted in our name! How amazing is that?
On Friday, April 23rd, Mr. Cahill, along with help from Mrs. Miscioscia and the Student Council, organized a school wide Earth Day Clean Up in Phoenixville. This initiative covered a 36 block radius, and all students and teachers were out participating in this worthy project. We even made the 12:00 news on 6 ABC! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for pictures of the event.
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I am shining the light on Mr. Cahill. Mr. Cahill is our 1st Grade teacher, and he has been a member of the HFS community for several years. He is without a doubt one of Holy Family School’s biggest champions, and he is always looking for ways to put the kids and the school front and center. His work with his students always amazes me, and I applaud his love of getting our students involved in the fine arts. Thank you, Mr. Cahill, for all that you do!
Lunch Parent Volunteers
April is just about over, but we do still have some gaps in our lunch parent coverage. If you can help out in any way, the teachers would be most grateful. Having a few moments to eat lunch, make copies, and perhaps have some adult interactions can be just what you need to get through the day. On top of that, our (your) kids are adorable! Who wouldn’t want to spend some extra time with them? Click here to see what time slots are available.
