Dear HFS Families,
I don’t know what it was about this week, but it was a lovely week here at HFS. Things felt really “normal,” and it was so refreshing. We were able to progress through the week, focused on our work and studies, and the students and staff were happy and enthusiastic. It has been a long go of it, but that feeling of being closer to a new normal is a great feeling.
Principal’s Spotlight
This week, I would like to shine a light on Ms. Jacqueline Pizzico. Ms. Pizzico has been an excellent addition to our staff this year. She jumped into our HFS community with both feet, and she has surprised us and bolstered our morale this year. She works tirelessly in planning interesting and engaging lessons for her students, but she is also consistently looking for ways to spread that joy throughout the school. “Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share” (1 Timothy 6:18).
Ms. Pizzico organized an HFS Reads Night, which was incredibly successful, but she didn’t stop there. She reached out to various stores to see if they would be willing to donate prizes for a raffle during the event. The event was so successful that she has organized 2 more nights!
May Procession and 8th Grade Graduation
I have recently been receiving questions about both of these events. While still in the planning stages, I can tell you that it is our intention to hold scaled-back versions of both the May Procession and the Eighth Grade Graduation.
We are looking at both events to determine how best to hold them while still maintaining our safety standards. I will send out more specific information soon.
Lunch Parent Volunteers
Can you believe that it’s the middle of April?! We are thankful that the weather has become more spring like, and the students are enjoying their time outdoors. We are thankful for all the parents who have been able to assist us during lunch recess. The teachers are so appreciative of your time.
Even though we are in the middle of April, we still have a number of slots available during lunch recess. If you are available to help at any time, we would be most grateful. Click here to see what time slots are available.
