Hello, my name is Mary Beth Horner
I am so excited to be teaching third-grade here at Holy Family School for the 2nd year.
I live in Kimberton, Pa. with my husband, Doug, and my son Troy; who will be attending Montgomery County Community College this fall. Most recently I taught at St. Basil the Great School; teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts for the past 13 years. I also taught first grade for four years and second-grade for three, at St. Basil's. Before St. Basil's I taught first grade at Holy Saviour School in Norristown for seven years. If you add all of those years together I have taught a whopping 27 years! I have a B.S. degree and teaching certificate from West Chester University in Early Childhood Education, Graduate credits in reading and a Wilson Reading Certificate.
I love to read and I spent much of the summer reading on the beach in Ocean City New Jersey.
I am an avid Phillies and Eagles fan,( I still can't talk about Chase without shedding a tear.) I like to swim and workout at the YMCA and enjoy walking my dog, Ebony. There is nothing that can pull me off the beach other than "Back to School" activities. I am so excited to get into my new classroom and get ready for my new group of excited and energetic third graders! I am looking forward to teaching a new grade this year and to learning many new things!
See you in September!
